    Divorce matters are complex enough to begin with, but when there are issues of Domestic Violence, an attorney with knowledge, experience, and compassion in this area is imperative.  For more than a decade, Lisa has dealt with legal matters concerning domestic violence.  She has attended many trainings, both local and national, focusing on all areas of Domestic Violence.  She then became a trainer herself in this area.  Serving in the capacity as Prosecutor and Supervisor of the Domestic Violence Division, Lisa has tried hundreds of cases involving Domestic Violence.   She has also participated in hundreds of contested Order of Protection hearings.

    In the area of Family Law, when Domestic Violence is present in a case, it is important that an attorney have a background in dealing in this area when addressing important issues concerning custody and visitation, and continued safety of the children and parent.  Having someone that understands not only the legal process but also the difficult emotional turmoil that is caused in these cases is imperative.  Lisa will work with compassion and understanding and support her clients through the family court process both in Divorce and Order of Protection matters.

    Lisa has provided many training seminars over the last decade to Law Enforcement, Dispatch Agencies, Community Groups, Schools, Youth Groups, Court Watch programs, and fellow Attorneys on the topics of Domestic Violence and Orders of Protection.  Lisa is available to such groups to provide on-site training.


    Drawing from her many years of experience as a Prosecutor and more specifically the Supervisor of the Domestic Violence Unit, Lisa is available to provide training on topics including but not limited to investigating the crime of domestic violence and stalking, domestic violence report writing, giving effective court testimony, orders of protection,  review of domestic violence statutes and laws, and GPS monitoring of offenders.

  • Do you Charge for an Initial Consultation?

    The attorney-client relationship is an important one.  Both attorney and client need to feel a level of comfort and be able to work together in an effort to resolve the case.  An in person meeting is important in developing the attorney-client relationship.  We offer initial consultations on criminal cases at no charge and also offer 30 minute initial informational consultations on family law cases.

  • What is a Guardian Ad Litem?

    A Guardian Ad Litem (also known as a “GAL”) is an attorney for the parties’ child(ren). The Guardian Ad Litem is required to investigate the facts of the case, interview the child(ren) and the parties, and testify or submit a written report to the court regarding his or her recommendations in accordance with the best interest of the child.  A Guardian Ad Litem may be appointed by the Court in both Pre and Post Decree matters including but not limited to Custody and Visitation matters.
