Frequently Asked Questions

  • Do you Charge for an Initial Consultation?

The attorney-client relationship is an important one.  Both attorney and client need to feel a level of comfort and be able to work together in an effort to resolve the case.  An in person meeting is important in developing the attorney-client relationship.  We offer initial consultations on criminal cases at no charge and also offer 30 minute initial informational consultations on family law cases.

  • What is a Guardian Ad Litem?

A Guardian Ad Litem (also known as a “GAL”) is an attorney for the parties’ child(ren). The Guardian Ad Litem is required to investigate the facts of the case, interview the child(ren) and the parties, and testify or submit a written report to the court regarding his or her recommendations in accordance with the best interest of the child.  A Guardian Ad Litem may be appointed by the Court in both Pre and Post Decree matters including but not limited to Custody and Visitation matters.
